Tri-Association Manufacturers' Initiative

This funding is available to the manufacturing members of the Kawartha, Northumberland and Quinte Manufacturers' Associations. It will rebate 50% of the approved third-party net training costs and will provide a rebate of $1,000 per intern hired for a minimum of three months. Interns must be hired by December 31, 2010 in order to provide the three-month proof of payroll by the end of the program in March 2011. This funding program will operate from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 however the funds may be exhausted prior to the end date. Funding availability will be confirmed with you when your application is received. The cost of the training must be included with your application so we can allocate the funds to your request. As we get closer to exhausting the funds the amount on the application must closely match the invoice amount or you may only be reimbursed for the cost amount that was applied for. This funding rebates the net training cost, it does not reimburse Provincial or Federal taxes.
The application form will be available on the various Association web soon. Applications may be faxed or e-mailed. Once approved, complete the training and then submit invoice with proof of payment. A claim will then be submitted to the Community Adjustment fund. Please note this could take several weeks to receive a rebate cheque. The NCFDC has helped hundreds of local entrepreneurs develop their business ideas or expand their enterprises. To date the NCFDC has loaned well over $8 million to new small business enterprises in Northumberland. Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation also provides assistance to entrepreneurs in Northumberland and Peterborough through the delivery of very unique programs: Eastern Ontario Development Program, Self Employment Benefits (SEB) sponsored by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, and the Ontario Works Self Employment Development program.

The Centre's mandate is to assist the needs of entrepreneurs throughout Northumberland County who are seeking information on starting a small business or who require assistance with an existing business. Working closely with our staff, entrepreneurs receive the information and guidance required to achieve their goals through a variety of general and customized services.
