    Municipality of Trent Hills Municipal Election 2018 

    Welcome to the Municipality of Trent Hills' 2018 Municipal Election Page. Here you will find key information for both electors and for candidates as it becomes available. Information will be updated and added to the website as the Municipal Election draws nearer.

    In an effort to continue to make voting as accessible as possible, Municipal Council has approved the use of Alternative Voting in the 2018 Municipal Election. 

    The 2018 Municipal Election will be conducted through Internet and Telephone Voting.

    Key Dates:

    Voting Period Starts Monday, October 15, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.
    Voting Period Ends Monday, October 22, 2018 at 8:00 p.m.
    Inaugural Council Meeting Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

    Qualifications of Electors

    Per Section 17(2) of the Municipal Elections Act:
    A person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality if, on voting day, he or she,
    (a) resides in the local municipality or is the owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
    (b) is a Canadian citizen;
    (c) is at least 18 years old; and
    (d) is not prohibited from voting under subsection 17(3) of the Municipal Elections Act or otherwise by law.
