FACT SHEET- Property Tax and Utility Account Information

Q.        Has the due date for property taxes been extended?

A.         The April 30, 2020 tax instalment due date has been extended to May 29, 2020.

Q.        Has the due date for water and sewer bills that were issued to some residents been extended?

A.         The March 28, 2020 utility (Water & Sewer) due date has been extended to April 30, 2020.

Q.        Is my pre-authorized payment plan included in the due date extension?

A.         No.  See below for further information:

 

Taxes – Monthly Pre-Authorized Payment Plan

 Property owners who are enrolled in the Monthly Pre-Authorized Payment Plan are not affected by the due date extension of the April 30, 2020 property tax installment.

 If you wish to remove yourself from the Monthly Pre-Authorized Payment Plan for your property taxes, please provide written direction by email to:  lisa.vandervoet@trenthills.ca

 

Taxes – Due Date Pre-Authorized Payment Plan

Property owners who are enrolled in the Due Date Pre-Authorized Payment Plan are not affected by the due date extension of the April 30, 2020 property tax instalment.

If you wish to remove yourself from the Due Date Pre-Authorized Payment Plan for your property taxes, or wish to have the April 30, 2020 instalment extended to May 29, 2020, please provide written direction by email to: lisa.vandervoet@trenthills.ca

 

Water and Sewer – Due Date Pre-Authorized Payment Plan

Customers who are enrolled in the Due Date Pre-Authorized Payment Plan for Water and Sewer are not affected by the due date extension of the March 28, 2020 water and sewer due date. 

If you wish to remove yourself from the Due Date Pre-Authorized Payment Plan for Water and Sewer, or wish to have the March 28, 2020 amount due extended to April 30, 2020, please provide written direction by email to: lisa.vandervoet@trenthills.ca

For all Pre-Authorized Payment Plans, if you choose to remove yourself, please remember to advise the Municipality when you decide to re-enrol.

 

Q.        What will happen to post dated cheques I have sent in?

A.         Post-dated cheques will be cashed on the date specified unless you ask us to hold them.  Please provide written direction by email to: lisa.vandervoet@trenthills.ca

Q.        Will the Municipality forgive the penalty/interest on my account?

A.         Penalty will not be added to the April 30th tax due date that has been extended to May 29th, 2020.

            Penalty will not be added to the Water and Sewer bill with a due date of March 28th that has been extended to April 30th, 2020.

Q.        How can I make payments if the Municipal Office is closed to the Public?

A.         Various options are available for payment of property taxes and water and sewer bills.  See below:

 

Methods of Payment:

1.  Property Tax payment and Water/Sewer Bill payments can be made at most financial institutions having payment arrangements with the Municipality of Trent Hills.

2.  A secure drop box is located at the main door of the Municipal Office for your convenience.

3.  Send payment in the mail:

4.  Internet and Telephone Banking are available through most major financial institutions.

For water/sewer payments, search for the payee name containing "Trent Hills" and then select "water/sewer".

Your account number is the same as the account number that appears on your Water/Sewer Bill and must be 11 characters in length with no spaces or dots.

For property tax payments, search for the payee name containing "Trent Hills" and then select "property taxes".

Your account number is your property tax roll number and must begin with 1435 and end with 0000.  The account number must be a total of 19 characters in length.
