Low Water Levels in the Warkworth Reservoir

Posted On Friday July 12, 2019

Wondering why the water levels in the Warkworth Reservoir seem to be lower than usual?

The water levels in the Warkworth Reservoir are affected by a variety of factors, including seasonal precipitation, which has been low over the last period. The outflow from the reservoir to downstream of the dam is higher than usual, based on 2018's Warkworth Dam safety report.

The dam is operating efficiently and the increased downstream flows are beneficial for the lower reaches of Burnley Creek.
