Closure of Crowe Bridge Park

Posted On Tuesday July 28, 2020

Crowe Bridge Park will be closed for the remainder of the season effective Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

The Municipality of Trent Hills, as the operators of the park on behalf of the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority, is committed to protecting the safety of residents and visitors.  Despite attempts to control the numbers in the park during a trial period, there was consistent overcrowding and illegal parking along the road side.

According to Mayor Crate, “We have tried public education, signage and staffing the gate but no matter how many resources we throw at the issue, it isn’t working.  We understand that these are difficult times and people are looking for a break, but this small area just can’t handle the volume of people so we have to think about public health and close it.”

Crowe Bridge Park closure will be strictly enforced.  The area will be well signed, prohibiting entry, and the OPP will be making regular patrols to ensure compliance with The Trespass to Property Act.
