April 22 - 29, 2026 - World Primary Immunodeficiency Week
The Municipality of Trent Hills proclaims April 22 - 29, 2026 as World Primary Immunodeficiency Week.
Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) refers to a group of rare and chronic disorders in which part of the immune system is missing or does not function properly. These conditions can leave individuals more vulnerable to infections and other serious health complications, and many people remain undiagnosed for years.
Raising awareness of PI is essential to promoting earlier diagnosis, improving access to appropriate treatment, and enhancing quality of life for those affected. Education and understanding also help build a more supportive and inclusive community for individuals and families living with these conditions.
The Municipality encourages residents to learn more about Primary Immunodeficiency, recognize the importance of early detection, and show support for those impacted in our community and beyond.

Land Acknowledgement
We recognize the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement.
Welcome to the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. It is on these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for
settlement.
Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
