Heritage Designation

The Municipality of Trent Hills has a rich history. Discover our heritage sites and learn about programs, grants and property.

Heritage Awareness Plaque Program

The Heritage Awareness Plaque program increases public awareness about heritage properties and their value to our community. If your property is on the Municipal Cultural Properties register, you are eligible for this program. Your property will have a plaque, showing its cultural significance.

Submit the completed heritage plaque application to us to apply for your plaque.

Heritage Grant Program

The Trent Hills Heritage Grant program allows you to apply for a property repair grant. This grant is available for heritage properties within the municipality. The amount of the grant cannot exceed more than 50% of the cost of the repair work. The maximum grant is $5,000. See the heritage grant guide and application to learn more about the program.

Land Acknowledgement

We recognize the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement.

Welcome to the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. It is on these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for
settlement.

Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
