October 2025 proclaimed as National Disability Employment Awareness Month

The Municipality of Trent Hills proclaims October 2025 as
National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Every October, Canadians come together to celebrate the contributions of people who have a disability and to strengthen our workplaces through inclusion. It’s a time to recognize the contributions of people who have a disability, raise awareness of the barriers they continue to face, and take action to build a truly inclusive economy.

The 2025 theme, Inclusive Employment Across Canada: Building a Workforce Without Barriers, calls on all of us to reimagine workplaces where everyone can contribute, belong, and succeed.

Land Acknowledgement

We recognize the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement.

Welcome to the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. It is on these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for
settlement.

Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
