Smoke Advisory
Due to wildfires in Northern Ontario and other parts of Canada, our area is experiencing elevated levels of smoke and reduced air quality.
If you notice smoke or a smoky smell, please do not call 911 unless you see an active fire or there is an emergency requiring an immediate response. The smoke affecting our area is the result of wildfire activity and is not necessarily an indication of a local fire.
If you have respiratory conditions or are sensitive to smoke, consider limiting outdoor activities and keeping windows and doors closed when possible.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Municipality of Trent Hills
Land Acknowledgement
We recognize the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement.
Welcome to the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. It is on these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for
settlement.
Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
