Cemetery Interments

The Municipality requests a minimum of 72 business hours of notice for each interment.

No interments will take place on Sundays or Statutory Holidays.

From December 1 to May 1, the Warkworth Cemetery Vault may be used for temporary winter storage of those waiting to be interred.

How can I buy a lot or schedule an interment?

Warkworth, St. Jerome's and Stone's cemeteries are active for lot sales and interments.  Stone's Cemetery has limited availability.  For information on lot availability and operations, or scheduling an interment, please contact us.

Only the person whose name is on the Interment Rights Certificate has the right to be buried or to allow any burials in that grave.

Transferring ownership of Interment Rights is unique for every transaction.  Please contact us for more information.

Land Acknowledgement

We recognize the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement.

Welcome to the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. It is on these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for
settlement.

Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
