Hastings Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion

Overview:

The Municipality of Trent Hills is undertaking a Schedule C Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study for the proposed expansion of the existing Hastings Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF), located at 134 Cedar Street, Hastings.

Project Details:

The Hastings WWTF is currently operating at 72% of plant capacity and will require an expansion to accommodate projected population growth in the Village and to address the current capacity limitations, as shown by the

The expanded treatment plant shall be built within the property boundaries of the existing site, as shown by the study area below.

Process:

The Class EA study will identify and evaluate alternative design concepts for the expansion of the Hastings WWTF. Preferred design concepts will be selected to minimize technical, socio-cultural, natural environmental and economic impacts.

Public Consultation:

Public consultation is an integral component of the Class EA process. Two Public Information Centres (PIC) will be held in association with the study, once dates have been scheduled the details will be communicated with the public (newspaper, website and individuals on the Project Contact List).
