Tanner Subdivision Reconstruction

Overview:

The Municipality of Trent Hills is fully reconstructing Tanner Road, Gair Street, Ibey Court and Parkview Boulevard (Tanner Subdivision) in 2026. This will include underground infrastructure (watermain, sanitary main and storm sewer/culverts) and asphalt resurfacing.

The Municipality was successful in securing funding from the Province through the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program’s Health and Safety Water Stream (MHIP-HSWS). The project will be funded 73% by the Province (up to $2,921,513) and 27% by the Municipality. More information regarding the funding announcement can be found here: Ontario Investing Up To $17,239,944 for Critical Water Infrastructure in Northumberland-Peterborough South | David Piccini, MPP

Project Details:

The project will include:

  • replacing watermain and services
  • relining a portion of the existing sanitary main, replacing the remainder of sanitary main and adding cleanouts to sanitary services
  • replacing culverts and existing storm sewer
  • replacing asphalt road surface with additional 1.5m shoulder on one side of the throughfare streets
  • reinstating driveways disturbed by construction (storm/culverts or services)

The existing rural cross-section will remain (no sidewalk or curb and gutter being installed).

Project Impacts:

Throughout the project road closures will be required to facilitate the work. Access to properties for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times with the exception of very short duration periods. Signage will be installed to provide details on traffic access and the Contractor will direct traffic as required.

Brief interruptions to service will occur as a result of construction new underground infrastructure. The Contractor will be required to give advance notice prior to any planned interruptions.

The Contractor will ensure that garbage, recycling, deliveries (including mail) and Emergency Services are uninterrupted during the construction activity. Residents are advised to label garbage and recycling bins with their address to ensure proper return if bins need to be moved.
